Transport logistics
Transport logistics is conveying system optimization i.e. a selection of kind and type of carrier, a definition of multifarious carrier's routes, guaranteeing of technological unanimity of transporting and warehousing process
The objects of transport logistics are:
- selection of carrier’s kind;
- selection of carrier’s type;
- a definition of multifarious routes of delivery;
- maintenance of technological unanimity of transporting and warehousing process;
- joint planning of transport processes of various types of transport (in case of the mixed transportations);
- creation of transport systems, including transport corridors and transport circuits
A selection of carrier’s type is one of the major tasks of transport logistics, which is solved with taking into account of following data:
- basic conditions of delivery;
- character of a cargo, i.e. its consistencies, weights, volume, dimensions, etc.;
- quantity of cargo consignment;
- the locations of a point in which the cargo should be delivered, its weather, climatic, seasonal characteristics;
- distances to which the cargo should be delivered;
- restrictions of a cargo transportation speed;
- value of a cargo;
- proximity of delivery point disposition to a railway network, the main highways, sea and river ports, etc.
Warehouse logistics
Warehouse logistics is optimization of operations, which are directly concerned with treatment and registration of cargos, coordination with custom and selling services, calculation of optimum number of warehouses and their arrangement places.
